Our Story

How it all started...

December 2018, things were not looking good for Calvary. They did not have a pastor and had been without one for awhile. There were about 11 people attending and they couldn’t pay the bills. Victory Worship Center, Spiro, Ok, stepped in and started paying their bills and held a 1 O’clock service on Sundays just trying to help out. Pastor Fouts was running into dead end after dead end trying to find a Pastor for Calvary. The decision was made at the end of December 2018 if there isn’t a Pastor then the doors to Calvary were going to be closed. It was at that time Pastor Tim Painter and the Painter Family heard the call to Calvary Church And it was “A New Beginning” for Calvary. By September 2023 Calvary had seen 130+ people be baptized, running 2 services on Sundays, and the excitement keeps building.  There must be more…

Expanding the vision...

The story doesn’t stop there, Pastor Tim‘s heart keeps leading for many more people and churches to have a new beginning. Pastor Tim kept saying “God wants to do more, what he has done here (Calvary) he wants to in do other places”. Summer 2023, Panama First Assembly closed its doors after being opened for 100+ years. Pastor Tim received a phone call asking him if he’d be interested in the church. October 1, 2023, Panama First Assembly was re-launched as Calvary Church Panama Campus with Pastor Michael Monroe and the Monroe Family. Monroe family are the Campus Pastors and have a heart to see many have “A New Beginning” with Jesus.

Where we are headed...

The story won’t stop with Poteau or Panama, but a legacy has just begun as Pastor Tim’s heart continues to beat for Rural Churches to be revitalized and become healthy within the region.
